Coalese consists of a passionate team of special forces who develop healthcare collaboration and integration solutions.

We've tried to put in words the ideas that motivate us as a company, the things that make us a team instead of just a collection of people who happen to work in the same office. To make collaboration and integration software that is remarkable and is useful.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy has four parts, in decreasing order of importance:

Create remarkable collaboration and integration software. Our top priority is to create good software that is innovative and remarkable. Every engineer loves and prefers creating good software. It's our job to give our engineers the environment, tools and support they need to accomplish this and to be able to think "out-of-the-box". We work really hard on integration, so that you don't have to.
Make money. Let's not pretend, Coalese is a business, and businesses must make money. Businesses that lose money can't make good software for very long.
Give back to the community. We believe in supporting the community that supports us. In that regard, 2% of gross revenue is donated to charity, with 1% going to healthcare related charities and 1% going to the Bear Creek Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary. When we use open source (which we do a lot) we try to give back to the open source community, where appropriate, by donating code, documentation, helping on bug fixes and such.
Have fun. This may seem almost flippant, but we're serious. We pay a lot of attention to making Coalese fun - because we believe work should be fun, or there's really no point in doing it. If you enjoy what you do, you do a good job at it. We all enjoy creating great software, but we have to make sure we enjoy the environment we work in and the projects we work on, or we'll burn out. Having fun is important, but like the ant and the grasshopper, you have to know when to get to work so you can continue having fun.

Our Ethics

We have three base values that are very important to us:

Be honest. This one is easy. We won't lie to you. We've been told that, in business, you're allowed to lie occasionally. You can say, "Oh, we're almost done with that feature," when really you've barely started it. People expect it. Well, don't expect that from us. We will always be honest with you about the state of our products, and everything else.
Be honourable. We use honourable here to mean: we will conform to our stated values. We won't compromise our values just because it would be easier, or cause less strife, or make us more money in the short run. We won't build crappy software just because we think it will sell.
Be moral. We define a moral action as one which you would praise if someone else did it. It's that simple. (We borrowed this notion from a famous philosopher, actually.) That's it. It reads like a boyscout manual, doesn't it? But why can't a business be ethical? Why can't a company have values beyond "money good"?

We think that being honest, honourable, and moral is what will keep our customers loyal to us.

Our Team

Coalese consists of a small, passionate, elite team of highly qualified and battle-proven healthcare integration and collaboration specialists that bring decades-long track records of solving intractable integration and collaboration problems to the table and a wealth of experience in leveraging emerging tools, techniques, technologies and standards to solve such problems.

Coalese is a small company with innovative products and ideas. We are proud of being small, since it enables us to be more nimble and innovative when it comes to dealing with the challenges facing healthcare. That being said, we already have a stellar rack record, having delivered everything we promised to our existing healthcare customers, on time, on budget and exceeding expectations. A smaller firm, contrary to "common wisdom" can actually be a lower risk partner, since the smaller firm cannot afford their customers to fail and thus will move heaven and earth to ensure success.

Our Passion

We are passionate in what we do, and are driven to make a difference. We want to help improve primary care and patient outcomes through the more effective use of information technologies, integration and collaboration tools. Yes, we know that sounds a bit idealistic, but we're not going to apologize for being motivated to change people's lives for the better.

Our Product Names:

Coalese Corporation products and solutions are named after animals found residing at the Bear Creek Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary.
